You walk by

There’s a ghostly fog that’s creeping softly across the bay

The harbor looks deserted

The seagulls flew away

And an never ending beating of the waves keeps rolling on the shore

It keeps coming back for more

As I walk the empty beach, my footprints in the sand

They’re a good reminder of how little time we spend

Appreciating all the little things that make the difference in the end

But suddenly I see you walk by

And the sun begins to shine again

Yes now and then I see that you’re alright

And it lifts me up again

There’s a million reasons why we shouldn’t feel so great

The job is gone again and the rent just will not wait

But regardless of how hard I try to change it all it slips away

In this silly game we play

As I walk the empty beach, my footprints in the sand

They’re a good reminder of how little time we spend

Appreciating all the little things and that’s why I’m saying it again

But suddenly ….
